Pokemon Prism: A Small Guide Through Rijon

Pokemon Prism: A Small Guide Through Rijon

So, in this part I’m mostly covering the postgame in Rijon. And as you may recall in the last one, Pokemon Brown took place in the region of Rijon. This is still only eight of the 20 total badges to get in the game. This one is much like vanilla crystal in that it is mostly a badge grab run. I will say, during my time in Rijon, finding some of the gyms was a bit tricky with having not gotten all that far in Pokemon Brown at the time. Also, the map was a very helpful tool, since you’re gonna have access to it from the get go.

An Updated Region

It is really no surprise, but there are a number of changes between Brown and Prism. There were originally plans to make it possible to trade pokemon between Brown and Prism, but that wasn’t able to be pursued after the Cease and Desist. Gyms get relocated and some gyms get nicer floor plans. Much like in Crystal, you can go about doing Rijon in about any order you want. You will need to go up to Johto for a couple badges before being able to move onto other badges. Most of the badges you can fly around to the nearest town or run through the shortest route.

The biggest hiccup you’ll run into is Botan City, but there isn’t a gym there and you already did what you needed to during your jaunt through Naljo. For the most part, my jaunt was a bit of a mess, but you could still theoretically pick a method and go through it that way. Make sure you do pick the bike up, you’ll need it for the Johto bit. I’ll cover the extra four badges in another run through.

For my final words, I’ll just let you know to make sure you have the KEY ITEMS like the bike before moving into Rijon. The Prism guide has nothing for Rijon, just Naljo, except for Botan of course, which you need for Naljo progression. You should have the HMs you need, so getting around with those will be pretty simple, make sure your HM slave is on you, it’ll be much faster. Keep in mind levels do continue to progress, it gives you an idea of the “intended” Rijon progression. Go pick it up at the website  or you can join the discord, too.
