Pokemon Crystal Clear Elite 4 Walkthrough

Pokemon Crystal Clear Elite 4 Walkthrough

SPOILER ALERT!!!

Just a warning to everyone out there, yes there will be spoilers. I’m talking about a “story” portion of Crystal Clear that everyone generally will eventually run into. The Elite Four in Crystal Clear is different from vanilla Pokemon Crystal. It’s both something people like and others hate, but hey, whatever.

The first thing I highly recommend doing is grabbing a bunch of healing items. This is only able to be used between battles, if you want to, you can buy Sacred Ash from the shady guy in the Medicine Shop in Cianwood, or once you have 16 badges. This will just restore any fainted pokemon in your party and heal your whole party overall. The only downside is it only works if you have at least one fainted pokemon in your party.

Elite 4 Trainers

Neph

Pokemon Crystal Clear Elite 4 trainer Neph.

Now that that is out of the way, let’s move onto the meat and potatoes. When you got to take on the Elite Four, the first person you get clobbered by is NEPH, (hmmm). His party is a good mix, too. Your Electric pokemon may not be a good pairing against that Tauros, solely due to Earthquake, that move has ended a couple speedruns using Elekid. Overall, you’ve just gotta take advantage of typing since neither of you can use items during battle.

Elite 4 Neph's pokemon party
  • L55 – Tauros
  • L55 – Snorlax
  • L56 – Omastar
  • L57 – Fearow
  • L65 – Dragonite

Robert

Crystal Clear elite 4 trainer Robert.

Next in the line up, once you get healed up after your surprise battle, is Robert. His party has no specific typing, but that daggum Wigglytuff will setup a Rain Dance for Thunder, which all of his Pokemon know, except for Tangela. You’ll want to avoid that and be careful of other tricks in his moveset.

Elite 4 Robert's pokemon party
  • L55 – Tangela
  • L55 – Wigglytuff
  • L56 – Starmie
  • L57 – Nidoqueen
  • L65 – Raichu

Doom

Pokemon Crystal Clear Elite 4 trainer Doom.

Doom, next on the line-up, is a good break from the normal. His party consist of some rather abnormal pokemon for an Elite Four match. His pokemon can still be potent, though. Most of his pokemon will go down with the standard movesets people take to an Elite Four match. Sadly, his omanyte is super vulnerable in spite of the level. Also, watchout for that Ice Beam on Octillery.

Elite 4 Doom's pokemon party
  • L55 – Noctowl
  • L55 – Xatu
  • L56 – Octillery
  • L57 – Beedrill
  • L68 – Omanyte

Fibbef

Pokemon Crystal Clear Elite 4 trainer Fibbef.

Fibbef is the rocker of the group. He is the first one with nicknames on his pokemon. He does have a good type coverage in his moves. ANDERSON can prove a tease with the Recover, though. CHARVEL will give you a tough time, too, if you don’t take him out quickly. His most vulnerable one will be Togepi, his three month long shiny hunting baby.

Elite 4 Fibbef's pokemon party
  • L55 – (Anderson)/Alakazam
  • L55 – (Forden)/Magmar
  • L56 – (Charvel)/Porygon2
  • L57 – (Dogpound)/Houndoom
  • L65 – Togepi

Honeybun

Pokemon Crystal Clear Elite 4 trainer HoneyBun.

Honeybun is where the game ramps up a few levels. His is a full party of six, and his Gengar is trouble from the start. Once you clear out Gengar, though, your next Hurdle will prove to be DADDY, he has Sweet Kiss and won’t hesitate to buff with Curse. A lot have complained about DADDY, but he sticks around to prove how worthy people really are to meet the Champ.

Elite 4 Honeybun's pokemon party
  • L62 – Gengar
  • L60 – Steelix
  • L60 – Dragonite
  • L61 – Heracross
  • L64 – Slowbro
  • L62 – (Daddy)/Snorlax

ShockSlayer

Crystal Clear Elite 4 trainer ShockSlayer

Finally, you come to ShockSlayer himself. His party is strong, especially against a Magikarp-based party. A lot of you type advantages will prove useful. Pudge is built to stall you, though, she takes quite a beating and recovers whenever possible.

Elite 4 Shockslayer's pokemon party
  • L65 – (Zues)/Jolteon
  • L62 – (Naga)/Cloyster
  • L65 – (Tiny)/Tyranitar
  • L65 – (Pudge)/Blissey
  • L65 – (Saber)/Scizor
  • L70 – (Toplettuce)/Skarmory

Bonus Fight: Pigy!

Pigy the swinub

L70 (Pigy)/Swinub

Once you clear out SS, you’ll get surprised by PIGY. He’ll battle you before entering the Hall of Fame, and no you can’t catch him, he’s too fast for your Balls. A good water move usually clear hims out pretty quickly.

What Happens After the Elite 4?

If you have survived through the Elite Four (and friends), Congratulations and welcome to the Hall of Fame. If you accidentally knocked out some Legendaries, then they are now reset and you can go try again. You can also refight the Elite Four without some of the friends showing up, too. Check out the documentation and share your success on the discord!
