The Pokemon Trainer’s Guide to TMs in Crystal Clear
Making it quick, in Crystal Clear you can actually buy all the TMs in the game from the Dept. Stores. The only barrier is number of badges. I’m not gonna talk in specifics about the TMs, because you can find a list of TMs online, the documentation has the specific TMs in each tier, too. More powerful TMs are saved for later badges. There are also TMs all over the overworld, but I’m not sharing those secrets, getting those require what we, on the Crystal Clear discord, call E-X-P-L-O-R-A-T-I-O-N.
Tutors
Crystal Clear includes a way to teach moves that were TMs in Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow as well. Just go to the Kanto Radio Tower in Lavendar Town. The old guy there can teach them moves, after you talk to him, a new menu for teaching these moves pops up to let you teach these moves from any PC.
A lot of moves were only available to certain pokemon via events, that no longer happen. So, to allow those moves to be used again, simply visit the Johto Radio Tower in Goldenrod, a man in a hat lets you teach these moves to pokemon. Much like the Kanto TM tutor, this one will show up in the PC, too.
Crystal Clear has a unique move tutor. The Battle tutor, also known as Prof. Grizz, is in his Science Lair somewhere in Mt. Moon. He teaches moves that pokemon don’t normally learn or learned in later generations. He allows you to find more use in your pokemon and variability than before. If you look at one of the PCs in the Lab, there is a list of moves every pokemon can learn. Much like the others, teaching is available at every PC once it is unlocked.
Moveset Perfection
In the Move Deleter’s House in Blackthorn, you’ll find the Move Reminder. He provides a very simple service, he teaches move that you pokemon could previously learn via level up. So, whether you accidentally skipped a move or want a move back, he’s your man. And you have to make the trek to him everytime you want to take advantage of his services, no PC system for his services.
