Pokemon Prism’s Naljo Ruins and How to Navigate Them

The Naljo Ruins are located at Route 78, somewhat west of Phacelia Town. You will need surf to access it, but you come here anyway as part of the main story. You can probably locate it on the map just by running the cursor in the area on the map.

Route 78 as shown on the region map.
Right outside the naljo ruins.

So first warning, there are holes hidden all over the place. It made my first go around of the ruins quite interesting and tedious. The bottom Floor, Floor 1, is especially interesting because it seems to repeat over and over if you try wandering it, the staircase goes to a singular place. The ruins have a whole puzzle that requires you to find some jewels as you wander around. You will also run into the baddies, the Palette Patrollers, here again. The jumping shoes you should already have will be your best friend for when you uncover pits.

The first thing you’ll need to do to progress the game is getting those jewels. Half of them are hiding past some of the Palette Patrollers. Once you find Palette Patroller Yellow on floor 2, there is a staircase. After taking the staircase, go West, North, then all the way to the East and pick up the Blue Jewel. This floor where the Blue Jewel is also has a Gas Mask, you’ll need that for other jewels.

On Floor 2 to the South East is a switch labeled Murum, flip it, because who wouldn’t? When you get up to Floor 4 there will be a missing wall, if you have been there before. Take the staircase to Floor 5, which is where the Gas Mask comes in, and make your way through the pitfall maze, once you make it to the end, one of the pokeballs has the Brown Jewel, the other two are wild encounters. There is a chance that a wild ball could be a Metang.

On Floor 5 is a switch next to a staircase, this switch is labeled Telum, hit it. Then head back to Floor 3 and got to the North West of the floor. You’ll fall through and find the Red Jewel right next to you to the East.

The White Jewel is pretty simple. On Floor 6 Palette Patroller Green is hiding. Just to the North of him is the White Jewel, fight him and take it. Once you finish all that you should have the keys to the Naljo Ruins. Go up to Floor 6 and open the chest to get the Prism Jewel. This can then be traded to a shady guy outside the Ruins for a Fake ID.

Finally, some might be looking for what is available to find in the wild in the Naljo Ruins. If you took enough time soaking in the outside you ahve probably already run into some Geodude or Gravelers. You might have run into Rhyhorn even, I think Trapinch was pretty common, too. Finally your others are Cacnea, Cacturne and Loudred.

Floor 1 has plenty of Haunter and Golbat. On top of that are also Rhyhorn, Lairon, Donphan and Misdreavus. Probably the more elusive of the bunch if Beldum.

Floor 2 of the Ruins still has Haunter wandering around, along with Rhyhorn and Donphan. Different pokemon that show up on this floor, Machoke and Chingling. Finally, Beldum shows up again.

Floor 3 has some Rhyhorn and Donphan, Beldum follows along too. If you are looking for Duskull, they are a bit more common than the others. Lairon and Solrock show up, too, but Kangaskhan is king on this level.

Floor 4 clears out most of the repetition, except for Beldum, of course. Koffing and Slugma are your more common variety here. Torkoal and Weezing do show up to mix it up a bit, but Spiritomb is the boss.

Floor 5 has Rhyhorn showing back up again, Beldum isn’t going anywhere either. Shuppet shows up along with Lairon and Haunter. Finally we have Solrock, and oddly, Swablu.

Floor 6 has quite a different mix, this is technically the roof, too. Swablu is the pokemon you will see the most, the level spread is decent. Beldum shows up in the middle, too, with a much wider level spread.

I hope this helped you get through the Naljo Ruins, or gave you an idea of what you can pick up from it. Don’t forget to check out the documents for a more comprehensive walkthrough and guide. Prism also has a discord you can join to share and ask questions on.
